Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, with expertise in sushi preparation and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating delicious sushi rolls and other Japanese cuisine while ensuring adherence to food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present sushi and other Japanese dishes with precision and creativity.
• Ensure all ingredients are fresh and of the highest quality, maintaining proper food handling practices.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and service efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
• Stay updated on current food trends and techniques to enhance menu offerings.
• Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with guests when necessary, sharing knowledge about menu items.

Requirements

• Proven experience in the food industry, particularly in sushi preparation or similar roles.
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards and practices related to food handling.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques related to sushi making.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• A passion for culinary arts, particularly Japanese cuisine, is highly desirable.
• Previous experience in catering or dietary departments is a plus but not required.
