About the Role

Own go-to-market strategy and demand generation for high-voltage (HV) equipment—power transformers, switchgear, breakers, relays, and substation systems. Translate engineering value into customer outcomes, build pipeline with utilities, EPCs, and industrials, and equip Sales with the tools to win complex bids.

Salary Band & Benefits

Compensation: Base salary range $65,000–$145,000 plus a target bonus of 10–15% of base. Total on-target earnings (OTE) range approximately $116,000–$167,000. Actual compensation varies by experience, qualifications, and location cost-of-labor. Benefits include health, retirement, paid time off, and professional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Go-to-Market & Positioning: Define utility/industrial segments and ICPs; craft value propositions for transformers, HV breakers, GIS/AIS, protection & control, and substation packages; maintain competitive battlecards and win–loss insights.
  • Demand Generation: Plan and execute integrated campaigns (email, LinkedIn, industry media, webinars) to hit MQL/SQL goals; manage IEEE T&D and Distributech (booth, abstracts, lead capture, nurture); launch promotions with ROI tracking.
  • Content & Sales Enablement: Develop solution briefs, application notes, case studies, one-pagers, and bid boilerplates; maintain proposal libraries (spec language, datasheets, drawings links); manage photo/video and CAD/diagram assets.
  • Market Intelligence: Track market size, utility CAPEX, interconnection queues, and bid calendars; monitor competitors (price bands, lead times, features) and standards/regulatory updates (NERC, IEEE/IEC).
  • Pricing & Proposals Support: Partner on list pricing guidance, discount grids, and value-based pricing narratives; standardize RFI/RFP responses and ensure technical compliance.
  • Digital & CRM Operations: Own campaign setup, lead scoring, and routing in CRM/MAP; maintain product pages and quote flows; A/B test landing pages.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related; or Marketing with strong technical aptitude. Master’s a plus.
  • Experience: 3–7 years in B2B industrial/T&D marketing or applications/sales engineering; exposure to substations, transformers, switchgear, or protection & control preferred.
  • Technical Knowledge: Power system basics; transformer specs (kVA/MVA, impedance, cooling classes), breaker ratings, GIS/AIS, relay schemes; familiarity with IEEE/IEC and utility procurement.
  • Marketing Skills: Campaign planning, content creation, events; CRM/MAP (Salesforce, HubSpot, Marketo/Pardot); clear copywriting for technical audiences.
  • Soft Skills: Project management, cross-functional collaboration, translating engineering into customer outcomes.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with utility RFPs and EPC bid workflows.
  • Familiarity with NERC/CIP for digital substation offerings.
  • Basic CAD/diagram literacy (e.g., single-line diagrams) or tools like Visio.
  • Data-center or renewable interconnection market exposure.

Success Metrics (KPIs)

  • MQL → SQL conversion rate; opportunity value by segment. * Pipeline influenced by campaigns; cost per qualified lead.
  • RFQ hit rate; contribution to awarded revenue.
  • Content utilization by Sales; proposal cycle-time reduction.
  • Event ROI (qualified leads and opportunities sourced).

Tools You’ll Use

  • Salesforce (or similar), HubSpot/Marketo/Pardot, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Google Analytics, CMS (WordPress/Webflow), Canva/Adobe, webinar platforms, Excel/Sheets.

Travel & Work Conditions

  • Approximately 15–25% travel to customer sites, factories, and industry events; occasional substation/site PPE required.
  • Comfortable working with engineering drawings/specs and collaborating in the field with Sales/Applications.
