About the Job


The Downtown Troy Business Improvement District (BID) is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated intern to join our team. This role offers hands-on experience in event coordination, community engagement, and downtown development.

The Downtown Troy BID is a non-profit organization committed to enhancing the economic and cultural vibrancy of Troy, NY. We collaborate with local businesses, property owners, and community leaders to create a welcoming, innovative, and exciting downtown experience. From hosting signature events to providing key resources and fostering connections, we work to ensure Downtown Troy remains a top destination to live, work, and explore. If you’re passionate about community development and want to make a real impact, we’d love to have you on board.


Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with event setup, takedown, and cleanup
  • Supporting vendor coordination, including communication, applications, signups, and follow-ups
  • Participating in event preparation and planning
  • Contributing to other BID initiatives, such as:
  • Beautification projects
  • Marketing and social media
  • Communications and outreach
  • Civic engagement efforts

Qualifications:


  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program or recently graduated in a related field: Business, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations.
  • Strong Organizational, multitasking, and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Flexible to work occasional nights/weekends for special events.
  • Passion for small businesses, community, and events.
