POSITION SUMMARY
As a Lead Safety Professional at Fergusons Downtown, you serve as both a safety leader and frontline ambassador, responsible for maintaining a secure, welcoming, and well-coordinated environment for guests, tenants, team members, and event participants. This role combines safety enforcement, property oversight, and guest engagement with leadership responsibilities, including supervising team members, coordinating daily operations, and supporting management in implementing policies and procedures.
You lead by example, ensuring all interactions reflect Fergusons’ values of hospitality, safety, integrity, and community, while proactively identifying risks, guiding staff, and enhancing the overall guest experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Team Coordination
- Serve as a role model for Safety Professionals and Greeters, fostering a positive, professional, and inclusive work environment
- Train, mentor, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members
- Assist in creating and managing team schedules, including shift coverage, breaks, and time-off coordination
- Ensure proper execution of opening and closing procedures across safety and front-of-house operations
- Promote clear communication between Safety, FOH, Events, and Management teams
- Support management in implementing policies, procedures, and operational improvements
- Adapt to evolving operational needs and contribute to continuous improvement
Safety, Security & Enforcement
- Enforce Fergusons’ safety policies, house rules, and applicable laws with professionalism and consistency
- Respond to incidents, assess risks, and determine appropriate action
- Support conflict resolution involving guests, tenants, or team members
- Monitor and respond to security radio communications
- Perform ID checks and restrict access to controlled areas when necessary
- Support detainment procedures when required, following company policy and legal standards
- Maintain control of incident scenes while ensuring safety and dignity for all parties
- Ensure compliance with the City Security Plan and all safety protocols
Patrolling & Surveillance
- Conduct regular and hourly property walks across all Fergusons locations
- Monitor surveillance systems and identify suspicious activity or potential risks
- Ensure doors, gates, and locks are secure at all times
- Maintain strong working knowledge of property layout for efficient navigation and rapid response
- Identify hazards and either resolve immediately or escalate appropriately
Guest Experience & Community Engagement
- Actively greet and welcome guests, providing a friendly and approachable presence
- Provide directions, property orientation, and recommendations
- Assist with guest needs, concerns, and general inquiries
- Support events through crowd control, check-ins, and logistics
- Collaborate with Greeters and Event Staff to ensure seamless operations
- Maintain accurate counts of guests entering and exiting when required
Property Oversight & Operations
- Conduct property inspections to ensure cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness
- Remove hazards and submit maintenance requests as needed
- Log incidents, write detailed reports, and complete witness statements
- Assist maintenance teams with site access and authorization
- Handle and log mail/package deliveries for tenants and notify recipients
- Monitor trash pickups and escalate delays to prevent sanitation issues
- Assist with furniture movement, weather protocols, and site setup as needed
Events, Communication & Reporting
- Maintain awareness of daily and weekly event schedules
- Communicate event details, including ticketing or restricted access, to staff and guests
- Track and report foot traffic and operational insights to management
- Utilize company communication tools (e.g., email, Slack, GSuite) effectively
- Ensure all incidents, hazards, and violations are reported promptly

- Maintain strong knowledge of Fergusons’ layout, tenants, and offerings
- Continuously look for opportunities to improve safety and guest experience

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 2 years of experience in safety, security, or customer-facing roles
- At least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role preferred
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
- Professional appearance and demeanor at all times
- Working knowledge of safety procedures, local laws, and ordinances (or willingness to learn)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, GSuite, Slack, or similar tools
- Strong familiarity with Downtown Las Vegas preferred
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Ability to obtain required certifications (e.g., Sheriff’s Card, TAM Card)
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to walk, stand, and remain active for extended periods
- Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs; occasional lifting up to 100 lbs
- Work conducted indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Exposure to noise, dust, and occasional hazardous materials
- Use of radios, surveillance systems, and mobile devices required
