What is a Field Service Technician?
The Field Service Tech Lead requires understanding of all customer requirements on upcoming jobs, providing value added solutions with Downing products and services, and ensuring safe and successfully execution along with customer satisfaction on every job. This position will lead the field team required to support 2 to 3 frac crews or 4 to 6 drilling rigs.
In this role, you will:
- Communicate with customer field reps on all job requirements for upcoming pads
- Create a comprehensive plan for each job that ensures everyone is on the same page and well prepared
- Coordinate all equipment and personnel needed to successfully execute the job
- Ensure all equipment is “job ready”
- Ensure all personnel involved are well prepared and competent to successfully execute the job
- Oversee the execution of Downing field operations for the entire job
- Provide solutions for any issues that may arise
- Provide the customer with any post job reporting and gather any customer feedback on every job
- Continuously work with the customer on opportunities for improvement and sell our value-added solutions
- Train and develop a team of field services techs per Downing SOPs through on-the-job training in the field
- Spend most of the time in the field supporting the customer, ensuring safe and successful execution of the job, and developing the field service tech team
- Work jobs or shifts as required to ensure success
- Effectively communicate all opportunities for improvement and best practices with management
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required and Preferred Experience:
- Downing Field Service Tech level 3 or 4
- Solid computer skills utilizing Windows, Microsoft office, and company specific software
- Communicate effectively to all levels of an organization
- Knowledge of completion and/or drilling operations
- Troubleshooting, reason, and the ability to solve problems
- Customer service minded
- Maintain professionalism in the workplace and on location
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear
- Operate, handle, and lift shop equipment and tools up to 30 lbs. (SEF Energy employees shall not manually lift an item weighing more than 50 lbs., they shall utilize mechanical assistance devices. If mechanical assistance devices are not available, utilize a team lift.)
- Clearly hear voices or alarms, bells, and other noises
- Be able to work in outdoor conditions such as heat, cold, wet, and be exposed to dust, fumes and other airborne particles, and loud noises
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- College degree, preferred
