What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Contract Physical Therapist position at Down Dog Sedona?
Contract Physical Therapist (PT)
Location: Sedona, Arizona
Job Type: Independent Contractor | One-Day Engagement
Schedule: Monday Morning | Approximately 4–5 Hours
Compensation: $1,500 per PT for the one-day engagement
Anticipated Date: Late January or February 2027 (final date TBD)
Position Overview
We are seeking two experienced Physical Therapists (PTs) currently authorized to practice in Arizona to support a premium 5-day men's leadership intensive in Sedona, Arizona.
This is a one-day independent-contractor engagement, anticipated to require approximately 4–5 hours on a Monday morning.
The intensive will accommodate a maximum of 14 men. Each PT will work individually with up to seven participants in a separate, private room at the program's hotel in Sedona.
The Assignment
A central component of the intensive is helping each participant better understand how he currently moves and giving him a practical, individualized plan for improving mobility.
Each PT will:
- Conduct up to seven private, one-on-one Functional Movement Screens (FMS);
- Evaluate each participant's FMS results and relevant movement limitations, asymmetries and mobility considerations within the PT's professional scope of practice;
- Clearly communicate relevant findings to each participant; and
- Develop a practical, individualized mobility plan for each participant based on the FMS results and the PT's professional judgment.
We are looking for clinicians who can work efficiently without making the experience feel rushed. Participants should leave the session with a clear understanding of their FMS results and a useful mobility plan they can realistically incorporate into their lives.
Individual FMS results and mobility recommendations will remain confidential between the PT and the participant and will not be shared with program staff or other participants.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must:
- Be currently authorized to practice physical therapy in Arizona;
- Be in good standing with the applicable licensing authority;
- Carry appropriate professional liability insurance;
- Have demonstrated experience administering Functional Movement Screens (FMS);
- Be able to efficiently translate FMS findings into practical, individualized mobility recommendations; and
- Be comfortable working independently in a private, one-on-one setting.
Licensure/privilege status and professional standing will be independently verified through the appropriate licensing authority.
Preference will be given to PTs who are currently engaged in clinical practice and routinely perform Functional Movement Screens and individualized mobility programming.
The PTs We Are Looking For
Clinical qualifications are essential. How you work with people matters just as much.
You should have:
- A polished, professional presence appropriate for a clinical setting;
- A calm, confident and clinical manner;
- The ability to quickly establish trust and confidence;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
- The ability to connect comfortably with accomplished professionals from different backgrounds and generations; and
- A personality people enjoy being around.
We take the work seriously without taking ourselves too seriously.
Compensation and Contractor Status
Compensation is $1,500 per PT for the one-day engagement, anticipated to require approximately 4–5 hours.
This opportunity is structured as an independent-contractor engagement and not an employee position. Selected PTs will be responsible for maintaining their own professional licensure or practice authority, professional liability coverage, and other requirements applicable to their independent professional practice.
Potential Ongoing Opportunity
This initial engagement is for one leadership intensive. If the program operates as anticipated, we expect to conduct approximately 3–8 intensives annually in Sedona, Arizona.
Our preference is to develop an ongoing relationship with two outstanding PTs rather than recruit a new clinical team for every intensive. If the first engagement is a strong mutual fit, additional opportunities may be available throughout the year.
Location and Scheduling
The work will take place on-site at a hotel in Sedona, Arizona, on a Monday morning tentatively scheduled in late January or February 2027.
The final program date, reporting time and logistical details will be provided before contracting.
Pay: $1,500.00 per day
