Field Service Engineering Intern

Position Summary

This position is for SW Engineering intern for summer internship project. There are two projects that will be assigned to internship.

First is a project to develop a HOW TO prepare tradeshow units including training and work instruction for DFS products preparation and configuration work instructions for our DFS distributors usage (companies external to DFS). This includes learning about our distributors tradeshow process, internal products, product configurations and branding.

Second project to improve onboarding process for Service organizations within DFS.

Position Responsibilities

• Gain knowledge on DFS products that are being showcased during tradeshows.
• Understand products, configuration steps and networking
• Understand trouble shooting steps.
• Design, develop, and document training for units readiness and configuration steps
• Review current contract process for onboarding Service Organizations and define improvements to streamline process. Goal would be to get a Service Organization onboarded 2 months. 
• Run audit and create a management tool to flag contracts that are expired and coming up for renewal. 
• Create process to identify and proactively address contracts that have expiration approaching. 
  
  

Qualification Requirements

• Hands-on basics: Experience on running reports from databases, understand basic configurations and communications
• Technical ability basic networking, understand flat and managed network
• Basic knowledge of Windows 10 environment
• Internet communication
• Mechanical aptitude able to replace HW and using basic HW tools
• Analytical skills and troubleshooting Testing: Ability to develop ""what-if"" test cases and logically identify critical system failure points
• Technical Documentation: Skilled in maintaining and correlate specific fault actions with their corresponding system outputs.
