Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aide to provide essential support to individuals in their homes or community settings. The ideal candidate will have experience in patient care and a strong understanding of the needs of seniors and individuals with disabilities. This role involves assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation
- Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Administer medications as prescribed and assist with medication management
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems for accurate medical documentation and record keeping
- Assist with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
- Observe and report any changes in the client's condition or behavior to the supervising nurse or healthcare provider
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality
- Provide care for individuals with Alzheimer's, dementia, or other developmental disabilities
Qualifications
- Previous experience in home health care, assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care settings is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and experience with medical records management
- Certification in CPR is required; additional certifications in caregiving or home health are a plus
- Familiarity with catheter care and hospice care practices is beneficial
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients of varying needs
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others live comfortably at home
- Ability to follow care plans accurately while maintaining flexibility to adapt to changing client needs
