Position: Entry-Level Health Information Specialist
Shift Schedule
- In-office position
- Part-time opportunities available
- On-call rotation required (every third weekend)
As a health information specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:
- entering physician orders, resident data, and employee information into the Electronic Health Record in a timely and accurate manner
- working with documentation sheets and maintaining appropriate records, lists, and reports generated by the system for facility use
- assisting with audits
- maintaining all records in accordance with state and federal regulations
- ensuring integrity, privacy, and confidentiality of all data
- completed coursework in anatomy physiology and medical terminology
- experience with data entry
- strong written and verbal communication skills
- understanding of basic HIPAA practices and the ability to maintain confidentiality of all medical records is necessary
- computer proficiency with the Electronic Health Record system and Microsoft Office products, as well as other office equipment
- previous health information experience
