Job Summary:
The Rehabilitation Specialist (RS) is responsible for providing clinical services to clients of Dove Healthcare Services, LLC, ensuring they receive appropriate care according to their Individual Rehabilitation Plans (IRPs). The RS also supervises direct care workers, provides training, and maintains high standards for service delivery. Reporting directly to the Program Director, the RS plays a crucial role in the rehabilitation process, ensuring clients' clinical needs are met and their rehabilitation goals are achieved.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Client Screening and Assessment:
- Conduct initial screenings for all program referrals.
- Responsible for ensuring that all intake documentation is complete and timely in the EMR and in compliance with company policies and procedures
- Obtain authorizations, continual authorizations for patients, monitor the authorization status as needed
- Perform comprehensive client assessments for new program entrants.
- Review and validate diagnostic impressions with client presentation; collaborate with referring therapists to document any changes in the clinical presentation.
- Treatment and Rehabilitation Planning:
- Develop and maintain individualized rehabilitation plans for each client.
- Ensure that monthly progress reports are completed and reflect the client’s current status.
- Supervise service delivery to ensure the effective implementation of treatment plans and case management services.
- Coordinate team meetings to review rehabilitation plans and ensure the effective delivery of services.
- Clinical Documentation and Compliance:
- Ensure all client contact is properly documented through session notes.
- Oversee the completion and quality of clinical documentation, ensuring it is timely and comprehensive.
- Facilitate the revision of forms and tools used to administer rehabilitation services in collaboration with the Program Director.
- Document clients' progress in monthly treatment summaries and maintain compliance with medical and rehabilitation guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with medical protocols and facilitate medical care for clients when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with CARF and COMAR regulations.
- Maintain client files, including medical, educational, and treatment records, and ensure proper correspondence with inter-agency team members.
- Supervision and Staff Training:
- Supervise direct care workers, ensuring they follow the treatment plans and adhere to clinical guidelines.
- Facilitate group and individual supervision meetings with direct service workers.
- Participate in monthly in-service training for direct care workers alongside the Program Director.
- Supervise clinical service delivery to ensure the proper execution of interventions and provide clinical supervision as required by state guidelines.
- Policy and Procedure Development:
- Participate in the development and ongoing revision of policy and procedures for rehabilitation services.
- Ensure compliance with state regulations, specifically COMAR, overseeing the supervision of direct care staff as required.
- Coordination and Communication:
- Maintain ongoing communication between mental health service providers and rehabilitation service providers to coordinate services effectively.
- Broker community resources and external services to meet clients’ needs.
- Coordinate with Community Service Agencies (CSAs) and other external agencies for the efficient delivery of services.
- Team and Management Involvement:
- Attend management meetings to provide updates on clinical services and client progress.
- Participate in team meetings and provide input to ensure the continued development of clinical programs.
Qualifications:
- Education and Licensing:
- Licensed mental health professional (required).
- Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field (preferred).
- Experience:
- Minimum of two years of experience providing direct care services to emotionally disturbed youth in a rehabilitation setting.
- Supervisory experience overseeing direct care staff in a psychiatric or rehabilitative service (required).
- Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of state and regulatory guidelines for psychiatric rehabilitation services (COMAR regulations).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in clinical documentation and treatment planning.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
