Middle School Athletic Director - Glendale School District Glendale School District is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Middle School Athletic Director for the 2026-27 school year. Job Summary: This position provides administrative leadership in planning, implementation, coordination, supervision, and evaluation of interscholastic athletic programs for the middle school. The Middle School Athletic Director promotes extracurricular athletic activity that fosters skill development, understanding of sports, and appreciation for a variety of athletic activities and programs, teaming, and sportsmanship for students and adults.Position Supervisor: Principal and/or Designee Salary Range: One time stipend of *$2,638 (*Based on the 2025-26 salary schedule. Follow all rules and regulations of the regional middle school league, including preparing student lists, submitting schedules, and other documents as required.Follow all school rules and regulations and school board policy. Communicate and enforce that all middle school athletes will be supervised at all times. Work with principal in resolving problems of discipline concerning athletes. Consistently enforce the athletic academic code issuing grade checks for all athletes and following up with teachers/staff concerning students who violate the code.
Serves as District liaison between division, local and state athletic authorities.Schedule the use of all athletic facilities and fields for middle school athletic games and practices following school procedure. Responds to personnel issues for the purpose of clarifying issues and implementing actions to address needs.Keep an updated inventory of all athletic equipment and uniforms. Keep supplies, equipment, and uniforms in satisfactory condition, and order all new and replacement supplies, equipment, and uniforms when necessary. Inspect all athletic areas for cleanliness and the proper storage of all athletic supplies, equipment, and uniforms.Provide each coach with equipment, team medical supplies, and uniforms prior to the season and insures that each coach returns all equipment, unused supplies, and uniforms using a checklist.
Appropriately maintains and secures confidential records and inquiries.Professionally represents the school and the district in interactions with parents, community, staff and students.Maintains appropriate certifications and training hours as required.Assists as back-up coach, if needed.Inspects facilities and athletic fields for health and safety concerns.Chaperones/supervises athletic events and campus, as neededSupervises, evaluates and directs the work of coaching staff and athletic personnel assigned to the middle school according to District policy.Requirements: Prior successful experience working in school coaching positions strongly preferred. Must have or be able to obtain a valid CPR/First Aid card and drivers license.
