Duties
- Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to uphold cleanliness standards.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients following recipe guidelines.
- Support meal preparation by assembling ingredients and preparing simple components for cooking or serving.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including dishwashers, ovens, mixers, and slicing machines.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, floors, and storage areas to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Follow proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination and ensure food safety management.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal prep and service activities efficiently.
Experience
- Previous dietary department or dietary aide experience is highly desirable.
- Experience in food service or restaurant environments demonstrating familiarity with food industry standards.
- Knowledge of menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation techniques.
- Skills in operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with safety standards in production environments and food handling protocols.
- Culinary experience including knife skills, slicing techniques, and basic cooking methods.
- Catering or serving experience is a plus, highlighting your ability to support various food service settings.
