Overnight Public Area Attendant

About the Role:

The Overnight Public Area Attendant plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of the hotel's public spaces during overnight hours. This position ensures that guests experience a welcoming and hygienic environment by performing thorough cleaning and maintenance tasks when the hotel is less busy. The role requires attention to detail and the ability to work independently to uphold the hotel's high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction. The attendant will also monitor public areas for any maintenance issues or safety hazards and report them promptly to management. Ultimately, this position contributes significantly to the hotel's reputation by creating a positive and comfortable atmosphere for guests at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in cleaning or janitorial services, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Ability to work overnight shifts and independently with minimal supervision.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
• Physical ability to perform manual tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in the accommodation and food services industry.
• Familiarity with hotel safety and sanitation standards.
• Certification in hospitality cleaning or related training.
• Strong communication skills to effectively report issues and coordinate with team members.
• Ability to operate cleaning machinery such as floor scrubbers or carpet cleaners.

Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize all public areas including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, elevators, and meeting rooms during overnight shifts.
• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners to maintain cleanliness and prevent odors.
• Restock supplies such as towels, toiletries, and cleaning materials in public restrooms and other designated areas.
• Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or security concerns to the appropriate department promptly.
• Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored after use.
• Assist with setting up or breaking down meeting rooms or event spaces as needed during overnight hours.
• Follow all safety and sanitation policies and procedures to comply with health regulations.
