DoubleTree by Hilton South Bend is seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager to join our leadership team and help lead one of the area's premier full-service hotels.
Recently renovated and ideally located in the heart of downtown South Bend, our hotel features nearly 300 guest rooms, over 15,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, a vibrant food and beverage operation, Starbucks®, indoor pool, fitness center, and direct access to the Century Center via skywalk. We are committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences while fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and hospitality.
Position Summary
The Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager in the overall operation of the hotel and serves as a key leader for all departments. This role is responsible for driving guest satisfaction, supporting department leaders, improving operational performance, ensuring brand standards compliance, and helping create an engaging workplace culture.
The AGM serves as a visible leader throughout the hotel, balancing guest service, team development, financial performance, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in the daily operation of all hotel departments, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Food & Beverage, Sales, and Events.

Lead, coach, and develop department leaders to achieve operational and guest service goals.

Maintain exceptional guest satisfaction scores and Hilton brand standards.

Partner with department heads to improve service delivery, productivity, and profitability.

Monitor labor costs, expenses, and departmental performance metrics.

Support recruiting, training, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.

Address guest concerns promptly and professionally while ensuring positive outcomes.

Conduct property walks and inspections to maintain quality and cleanliness standards.

Support safety, security, and risk management initiatives.

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.

Serve as Manager on Duty as required.
Qualifications
-
Minimum 3–5 years of hotel leadership experience.

Full-service hotel experience strongly preferred.

Previous experience as an Assistant General Manager, Director of Operations, Front Office Manager, Executive Housekeeper, Food & Beverage Manager, or similar leadership role.

Strong understanding of hotel operations, revenue management, guest satisfaction, and labor management.

Hilton experience preferred.

Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings as business demands require.
