Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough physical examinations and diagnose health conditions in small animals, including dogs and cats.
  • Perform medical procedures such as vaccinations, dental care, wound management, and minor surgeries with precision and care.
  • Utilize veterinary terminology accurately to communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and instructions clearly to pet owners.
  • Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques, ensuring comfort and minimizing stress during examinations and procedures.
  • Administer treatments with proper aseptic technique, including injections, catheterizations, and laboratory sample collection.
  • Assist in emergency situations by providing critical care for animals requiring urgent attention, including those with veterinary critical care needs.
  • Maintain detailed medical records, ensuring all treatments and observations are accurately documented for future reference.

Qualifications

  • Proven veterinary experience with a strong foundation in small animal medicine; additional equine experience is a plus but not required.
  • Demonstrated animal handling skills, including dog handling and general animal husbandry practices.
  • Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy to support accurate diagnosis and treatment.
  • Experience with laboratory procedures relevant to veterinary diagnostics.
  • Ability to perform animal restraint effectively while maintaining safety for both animals and staff.
  • Strong communication skills to explain complex medical information clearly to pet owners.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning in areas such as pet grooming, animal catheterization, and advanced veterinary techniques. Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
