Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable, experienced Full-Time Small Engine Mechanic to join our service team. The ideal candidate will have experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of outdoor power equipment and small engine products. This position requires strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair gasoline and diesel-powered small engines.
- Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, tune-ups, blade sharpening, belt replacement, and hydraulic service.
- Repair and service lawn mowers, zero-turn mowers, tractors, UTVs, generators, chainsaws, trimmers, blowers, pressure washers, and other outdoor power equipment.
- Use diagnostic equipment and service manuals to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
- Complete warranty repairs according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Assemble and inspect new equipment before delivery.
- Maintain accurate repair orders, parts usage, and labor records.
- Communicate repair estimates and equipment status with the service manager.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and moving equipment as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience repairing small engines or outdoor power equipment.
- Strong knowledge of 2-cycle and 4-cycle gasoline engines.
- Experience with diesel compact tractors is preferred.
- Ability to diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and fuel system problems.
- Experience using computerized diagnostic equipment is a plus.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
- Strong work ethic, dependability, and positive attitude.
