Operations Manager for Delivery Company

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Operations Manager to lead the delivery operations of a fast-paced Amazon Delivery logistics company. In this pivotal role, you will oversee end-to-end distribution processes, optimize transportation and warehouse activities, and ensure seamless coordination across all supply chain functions. Your leadership will drive process improvements, enhance efficiency, and foster a culture of continuous improvement to meet customer expectations and business objectives. The ideal candidate is energetic, highly organized, and possesses a strong background in logistics management, team supervision, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily distribution operations, including transportation planning, warehouse management, and order fulfillment to ensure timely delivery and high service levels.
• Manage and optimize transportation management systems (TMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS) to streamline workflows and improve inventory control.
• Lead process improvement initiatives utilizing Lean principles to reduce waste, enhance productivity, and increase operational efficiency across all departments.
• Supervise warehouse staff and distribution teams, providing coaching, training, and managerial communication to foster a motivated and high-performing workforce.
• Develop and monitor budgets related to freight, shipping & receiving, procurement, and overall supply chain activities; analyze profit & loss statements for continuous financial health.
• Coordinate with third-party logistics providers (3PL), NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier), freight carriers, and other partners to ensure optimal freight movement and supply chain integration.
• Implement inventory management strategies using ERP systems to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing excess inventory through demand planning and production scheduling.
• Drive supply chain analytics initiatives to identify bottlenecks, forecast demand accurately, and support strategic decision-making for distribution operations.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies across all logistics functions.

Experience

• Proven experience in operations management within a delivery or logistics environment with supervisory responsibilities in warehouse or distribution operations.
• Strong knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms, and inventory control tools.
• Demonstrated success in process improvement methodologies such as Lean or continuous improvement frameworks.
• Familiarity with supply chain management principles including procurement, materials management, freight forwarding (including NVOCC), demand planning, production planning, and distribution management.
• Experience managing budgets, profit & loss statements, and financial analysis related to logistics operations.
• Excellent team management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively through managerial communication.
• Prior experience working with 3PL providers or in transportation planning roles is highly desirable.
