The Territory Sales Manager will be responsible for generating new business opportunities for our sheet metal shop in the state of Virginia. This role is focused on expanding our customer base by targeting specific projects, mechanical contractors, general contractors, and other potential clients who require sheet metal fabrication and related services. Success in this role comes from identifying opportunities, working with our estimating department to develop accurate proposals, and closing deals that transition seamlessly to operations. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, results-driven professional with strong communication and relationship-building skills.

What You’ll Do:

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including:
  • Projects
  • Contractors
• Bring project opportunities to our estimating department and ensure proper handoff.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with mechanical contractors, general contractors, engineers, distributors, and other prospective clients.
• Develop and execute a sales plan to meet or exceed expected sales targets.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate project pricing, accurate scope, and timely customer service.
• Follow up on opportunities brought to the estimating team.

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring:

• Proven experience in outside sales; preferably in construction, sheet metal, or related industry.
• Strong understanding of the sales process – from lead generating to closing.
• Strong understanding of sheet metal products and fabrication processes.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively and travel as needed.
• Driving Requirements
  • Must have a valid Virginia driver’s license.
  • Must have positive points on state driving record.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age unless company approval is granted.
  • Must not have had a DUI, DWI, or reckless driving conviction in the last five years.
  • All driving records are run as part of our pre-employment process and reviewed at the discretion of the Safety Team.
• Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to crawl, kneel, squat, and climb. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, unassisted. 
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
