Gamewell Mechanical is searching for Mechanical Piping Estimators to join our growing team! These roles are primarily responsible for performing take-offs and building estimates with clear scopes. All material-quantities-labor estimate in their assigned field. Their work is the foundation on which each project’s financial performance is built, so it is imperative their work product has clarity and a high degree of accuracy.

What You’ll Do:
- Bid Calendar
- Support Lead Estimator when they receive all bid invitations and work with them to create and manage the bid calendar.
- Conceptual Estimating
- Gather vendor quotes and cost breakdowns for materials, labor, and subcontractor estimates in bid packages.
- Organize and categorize scope items using a standard cost code structure.
- Collaborate with Preconstruction Department to ensure all necessary prequalification documents and deadlines are addressed upon receiving a bid package.
- Possess a good understanding of project details, such as drawings, specs, materials, and pricing.
- Capture and identify potential cost-saving opportunities during bidding.
- Complete estimating checklist before the bid review and coordinate with the Lead Estimator for bid review.
What You’ll Bring:
- Experience in mechanical consulting, engineering field, or design-build mechanical contracting firm is preferred, but not required.
- Ability to create, modify and utilize templates.
- A proactive learner with a desire to continuously improve and grow.
- Ability to perform mechanical calculations is preferred, but not required.
- High proficiency in all Microsoft Office platforms.
- Read project documents and perform basic itemized takeoffs.
- Navigate electronic estimating software, and take direction and training from a supervisor.
- Proficient in English with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Driving Requirements
- Must have a valid North Carolina driver’s license.
- Must have positive points on state driving record.
- Must be at least 21 years of age unless company approval is granted.
- Must not have had a DUI, DWI, or reckless driving conviction in the last five years.
- All driving records are run as part of our pre-employment process and reviewed at the discretion of the Safety Team.
