Truly off-grid in the Nebraska countryside, the first Dormie Network club spans 300 acres of pure golf. You’ll be surprised by this club, found down a dirt road and surrounded by cornfields and prairie. The 18th green features a drive-through silo along the South Table Creek and historic Arbor Day Farm is just a short hike away.
The Merchandise Manager provides leadership and oversight of the golf shop and merchandise operations, ensuring high standards of presentation, inventory control, and exceptional service to members and guests.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
As a member of the Golf Operations leadership team, your essential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee daily golf shop and merchandise operations in partnership with the Head Golf Professional and Director of Retail Operations.
- Maintain organization and presentation of merchandise on the sales floor and in storage areas.
- Place, receive, and track merchandise orders to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Consult with the Director of Retail Operations on proper placement and presentation of merchandise displays.
- Establish standards for appearance and maintain visual merchandising across the golf shop and clubhouse.
- Rotate and update merchandise displays to reflect inventory levels, seasons, and promotions.
- Supervise and train team members on merchandising standards, organization, and display maintenance.
- Maintain props, mannequins, and display materials through regular cleaning and inspection.
- Store, pack, and maintain inventory records for products and display items.
- Utilize point-of-sale systems to process purchases and track inventory movement.
- Communicate with members regarding special orders, coordinating placement and shipment.
- Support Dormie Network online golf shop operations and order fulfillment.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with merchandise leaders across the Network, as well as vendors and corporate partners.
- Adheres to all Dormie Network’s policies, procedures and service standards.
- Work collaboratively with all employees to support an efficient and positive team environment.
- Consistently greet members, guests, and fellow employees with professionalism, enthusiasm, and a willingness to help.

- Demonstrates advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or comparable software to support reporting, forecasting, and operational oversight.
- Understands, enforces, and upholds written and verbal policies, procedures, and retail compliance standards.
- Maintains strict confidentiality when handling sensitive, proprietary, financial, or member-related information.
- Performs with composure and sound judgment in a fast-paced and occasionally high-pressure retail environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends, holidays, and varying shifts based on Club operations and member needs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains merchandise staff.
- Oversees daily department operations.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Manages discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of three years of experience in retail management, merchandising, or a related field preferred.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Ability to bend, stretch, twist, and turn.
- Ability to visually inspect merchandise for quality and presentation.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others.
