What You Will Do
- Own firmware architecture and implementation across multiple releases, including HAL/device drivers, peripheral integrations, and device interfaces/protocols (e.g., UART/I2C/SPI; RFID/BLE where applicable)
- Develop and maintain firmware using modern embedded platforms and RTOS environments, including Zephyr RTOS, and optimize for low ‑ power operation and performance on constrained devices
- Build and maintain an embedded test framework (unit/integration/HIL as applicable) and CI/CD pipelines for automated build/test, static checks, artifacts, and repeatable releases. Partner with hardware/QA/manufacturing teams on bring ‑ up, validation, and production test hooks, and support sustaining/field issues through comprehensive root ‑ cause analysis, while mentoring teammates through design reviews and best practices
- Support product launch and product lifecycle, including customer site visits, root cause analysis, issue validation and replication, and the development and release of a fix
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline
- 10 years embedded firmware development experience with strong C programming skills
- ARM Cortex-M class microcontrollers and at least one Real-Time Operating System (RTOS)
- Familiarity with serial communication protocols (I2C, UART, SPI)
- Strong embedded debugging and root-cause analysis (hardware firmware)
- Experience with Jenkins pipeline and Bitbucket (including Bitbucket Pipelines and/or Bitbucket-hosted Git workflows)
- STM32 ecosystem, FreeRTOS and/or Zephyr
- Bootloader design and Over-the-Air (OTA) update mechanisms
- RFID/BLE experience; familiarity with crypto/security concepts
- Experience with Linux development (application level)
