Position Overview
dormakaba is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic II based in Indianapolis, IN. This position is responsible for performing a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the repair and maintenance of mechanical machinery, including the design and manufacturing of certain machine components.
This position is Third Shift (9:30PM – 6AM) with a base pay range of $29/hr. – 35/hr. Mandatory overtime may be required as needed. (Pay rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data). What You Will Do
- Inspect, test, adjust, maintain, and repair all physical plant mechanical machinery and diagnose and correct mechanical issues
- Complete necessary departmental documentation to support a preventive maintenance program to maintain production machinery and equipment in proper working conditions and perform machine maintenance according to this program
- Interface with other departments to ensure timely completion of repairs and routine maintenance to minimize downtime and increase productivity
- Periodically check crib inventory stock levels to ensure machine parts necessary to perform duties are on hand
- Perform quality related duties and responsibilities
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Solid math skills associated with the completion of high school math sequence
- Proven maintenance experience and previous skills/experience with personal computers
- Ability to read blueprints, repair manuals, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics
- Ability to respond in emergency situations involving machine operations and clearly evaluate problems under pressure
- Ability to disassemble machines, equipment or devices to remove and replace defective parts and experience using of power tools including saws, grinders, and mills
- Use hands and fingers for seizing, holding, grasping, turning, etc. as well as for fine manipulation such as touching, picking, and pinching
- Communicate effectively in English by speaking and listening; use close/distance/color/peripheral vision, including using depth perception and adjusting focus
- Remain active throughout shift by standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, and lifting/moving items up to 40 pounds
- Basic electrical troubleshooting skills
