THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN ORANGEBURG, SC, OFFICE.
The purpose of the class is to perform a variety of routine-to-moderately complex clerical work in the creation, maintenance, and closing of case files for the Solicitor’s Office. The class is given a general outline of work to be performed and is free to develop work methods and sequences; work is reviewed periodically by the supervisor.
Requires at least two (2) years of related work experience.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position; typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but employees must be available during the “core” work hours of 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status.
Performs administrative duties including basic typing, scanning, creating files for incoming cases; closing files when disposed, filing, answering telephones, taking messages, copying, computer operation, data entry and review.
Processes and/or creates files for incoming cases.
Inputs and/or updates data in case management system and/or case files; updates current contact information of all case parties.
Request and/or retrieve criminal background history on defendants, jurors and/or other case related parties.
Enters case dispositions and/or closes files for all disposed cases/files.
Maintains file storage for the Solicitor’s Office.
Performs other diversified duties which include answering telephones; entering data and other information into the computer system; sorting/delivering mail; drafting, editing and/or distributing correspondence.
Creates and/or maintains associated documents and databases, arranges/coordinates meetings, special events.
Updates supervisor of critical issues/events.
Assists the public by providing customer service.
Assists employees with clerical needs.
Takes precise messages and ensures prompt delivery to appropriate staff.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Vocational/Education Preparation
Requires high school diploma or GED. Requires at least two (2) years of related work experience.
