Doppelmayr USA is seeking an experienced Customs Specialist. The specialist will manage all aspects of importing and exporting goods for Doppelmayr USA, ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and international trade laws. This role requires expert knowledge of current U.S. tariff regulations, including recent changes impacting steel, aluminum, and other derivative products, and will require staying current as regulations change. The specialist will serve as the primary point of contact for customs documentation, tariff classification, and regulatory compliance.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Import & Export Compliance
- Prepare, review, and submit all customs documentation for importing and exporting goods for Doppelmayr USA.
- Ensure adherence to U.S. Customs regulations, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes, and trade agreements (e.g., USMCA).
- Ownership of Doppelmayr USA’s master list of HTS codes.
- Ownership of Doppelmayr USA’s Import Compliance Manual.
- Maintain accurate records for CBP audits, including invoices, certificates of origin, and melt-and-pour documentation.
- Tariff Management
- Monitor and apply current tariff regulations, including Section 232 and other recent U.S. trade measures.
- Analyze duty rates and exemptions; implement strategies to minimize tariff impact.
- Collaborate with internal teams on tariff engineering and duty drawback opportunities.
- Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies to ensure timely clearance and ongoing process improvements.
- Provide guidance to procurement, accounting, and logistics teams on compliance requirements.
- Communicate regulatory updates and tariff changes across departments.
- Collaborate with Customs Specialists from other Doppelmayr offices.
- Risk & Process Management
- Conduct regular audits of import/export documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Develop and maintain SOPs for customs processes; recommend automation and efficiency improvements.
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in international business, Supply Chain, or related field.
- Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) certificate, Master Customs Specialist (MSC) certificate, or Customs Broker License a plus.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in customs compliance and international trade.
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. customs regulations, HTS classification, and tariff laws.
- Familiarity with CBP processes, Incoterms, and trade agreements (USMCA, EU-U.S. trade rules).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Salary : $75,000 - $90,000
