Overview
dopest dough is a fast growing WNY bakery, known for our award-winning bagels and breads, with a growing brick & mortar cafe in East Aurora, a new production facility, food truck, and a list of tastemaker WNY cafe, bar and restaurant wholesale clients. We are seeking dedicated and skilled Production Bakers to join our team to mix, manage fermentation, scale, shape, and bake our breads, bagels, and more, in a passionate, small-team environment. We’re hiring part-time to full-time Production Bakers (20-40 hours/week to start) to join our downtown facility, starting at $21/hr and negotiable based on experience and quality of work.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for not only baking, but food and a strong understanding of baking and basic kitchen operations. As a Production Baker, you will be responsible for mixing doughs, managing fermentation, scaling, shaping, baking off and packing out product in accordance with our quality standards and ensure that all schedules are met. This position requires working overnight shifts, daytime shifts, teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment at production volumes.
Duties
- Demonstrates a basic understanding of bread and baking, including components and fermentation
- Work overnight shifts
- Responsibilities Include: mixing dough, managing fermentation, scaling and shaping, baking, packaging for retail location sale and wholesale clients
- Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with dopest dough’s mission
- Demonstrates the ability to work in a team-driven environment
- Establishes and maintains a positive, professional relationship with co-workers and customers
- Is able to complete full production pars and duties on schedule
- Maintains organized and clean work stations
- Demonstrates a willingness to perform occasional small duties to aid other team members/departments, a general understanding of the business as a whole, and willingness to support the entire entity
- Assists in cleaning of production areas
- Prepare and cook inclusions and components according to established recipes and standards, as needed
- Ensure all dough and food handling and sanitation procedures are followed to maintain a clean production environment
- Collaborates with the cafe management team and delivery drivers to ensure timely and efficient delivery of retail product for service
- Collaborates with the wholesale management, clients and delivery drivers to ensure timely and efficient delivery of wholesale product
- Monitor inventory levels of supplies and communicate needs to management
- Participate in development and planning as needed
- Maintain all equipment, tools and utensils, ensuring they are clean and in good working order
- Communicates maintenance requirements for all equipment, tools and utensils
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a baker in a higher volume setting is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate!
- Knowledge of food handling, safety, and sanitation practices
- Previous experience in meal preparation and menu planning is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality standards
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a small team

Minimum Qualifications
- Be 18 years of age or older
- At least 1 yr. experience in bread baking or professional baking
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work as a team player
- Excellent basic mathematical skills
- Must display the ethical and professional standards set forth by dopest dough
- Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
- A valid Food Handlers Certificate is highly suggested (NYS offers an online 1hr course)
- Able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds or more
