What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development Agent position at Doo Financial?

Position Summary

Doo Financial, a U.S. registered broker-dealer, is seeking a highly motivated Business Development Agent to support the firm’s growth across corporate finance, ECM transactions, and strategic partnerships. The role focuses on sourcing qualified issuer leads, cultivating relationships with prospective corporate clients, and supporting the firm’s deal-origination pipeline in compliance with FINRA and SEC rules.

This is a revenue-driven role requiring strong communication skills, relationship-building ability, and a solid understanding of capital markets.

Key Responsibilities

Business Origination & Client Acquisition

  • Identify and source potential corporate clients interested in U.S. capital markets activities (private placements, pre-IPO rounds, M&A advisory, etc.).
  • Build and maintain relationships with CEOs, founders, CFOs, family offices, private equity funds, and professional advisors globally.
  • Conduct preliminary evaluation of potential mandates and coordinate internal discussions with the investment banking team.

Market & Partnership Development

  • Develop outreach strategies and market intelligence to support the firm’s origination pipeline.
  • Represent the firm in business meetings, conferences, and cross-border networking events.
  • Build referral partnerships with law firms, accounting firms, fund managers, and overseas intermediaries.

Deal Support

  • Coordinate introductory meetings between prospects and the deal team.
  • Assist in preparing pitch materials, teasers, and company profiles.
  • Work with compliance to ensure all communications and marketing activities follow FINRA/SEC guidelines.
  • Assist in onboarding new clients, including support with KYC/AML requirements.

Performance & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate activity logs, CRM entries, and weekly origination reports.
  • Achieve measurable business development targets set by the firm.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or related field (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Prior experience in business development, investment banking, corporate finance, consulting, or cross-border advisory.
  • Strong understanding of capital markets transactions and issuer needs.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely, while coordinating with internal teams.
  • Multilingual ability (Mandarin/Cantonese/Korean/Japanese) considered a strong advantage for Asia-related origination.

Regulatory Notes

  • This position does not require FINRA licenses unless the candidate will engage in activities considered “solicitation of securities transactions” or receive transaction-based compensation.
  • If required, support will be provided for obtaining SIE, Series 7, Series 79, or Series 63.
  • All communications must comply with FINRA Rules 2210, 3270, 3280, and internal supervisory requirements.

Compensation

  • Base stipend or consulting retainer (depending on structure).
  • Transaction-based success fees may be available only upon proper registration and compliance approval.
  • Performance bonuses based on originated and closed mandates.

Why Join Doo Financial

  • Direct access to a growing U.S. investment bank and broker-dealer platform.
  • Exposure to pre-IPO advisory, private placements, and cross-border deals.
  • Opportunity to develop a large professional network and transition into a registered representative or investment banking role.
