Position Summary:
We are seeking a Payroll Administrator to assume day-to-day payroll duties and to work closely with the Manager of Payroll in the oversight of payroll operations, ensuring accurate, timely pay for employees while maintaining compliance with federal, state and local tax laws and regulations. This position will also work closely with the Accounting team and provide support to the Accounts Payable function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process payroll for employees across multiple operating entities using ADP Workforce Now on a timely basis, ensuring accuracy in wages, bonuses, overtime, and deductions.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records including wage changes, benefit deductions, and tax withholdings.
- Assist employees with payroll-related inquiries and resolve issues or discrepancies in a professional manner.
- Collaborate with Human Resources and Accounting teams to ensure seamless payroll integration with record keeping systems.
- Calculate monthly reimbursement invoice to joint venture entity for employee payroll and benefits costs paid by the Company.
- Reconcile payroll to the general ledger and monthly bank statements.
- Ensure payroll tax filings are made timely and compliance with related payroll tax regulations are maintained properly by ADP on behalf of the Company.
- Prepare and maintain monthly analysis reconciling payroll and associated withholding tax accounts in the general ledger.
- Provide documentation necessary to book year-end salary accruals.
- Periodically assist Accounts Payable with weekly vendor payment processing.
Candidate Profile:
- Minimum of two-year Associate’s degree in Accounting/Bookkeeping or commensurate experience.
- Payroll experience required (3 years), ADP Workforce Now software knowledge preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of confidentiality.
- Proficient in Excel and payroll systems.
- Working knowledge of Costpoint ERP a plus.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Pro-active approach to problem solving, with strong decision-making skills.
Compensation & Benefits:
Anticipated base salary range: $60,000–$75,000, commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications.
