Job Title: Teammates Coordinator
Department: Activities
Education Level and Certification: High school degree or GED required. Any other mandatory training and/or certification is required. First Aid and CPR training required (may be obtained on the job and must be kept current). Must possess a motor vehicle operator’s license with a certificate to operate a school van. On-staff certificated employee preferred. Experience with teammates preferred
Reports To: Superintendent or designee
Required Job Tasks
TeamMates Program Coordinator Duties
- This individual will work collaboratively with TeamMates Central Office administration, local TeamMates chapter board, and their school district to implement the TeamMates mentoring program. The program coordinator provides direct oversight of the program to ensure quality mentoring
- Represent the TeamMates Mentoring Program for your school/community
- Inform school staff/school board on TeamMates' impact and/or invite Program-wide staff
- Align the local program with TeamMates policy and procedure
- Attend the conference meeting annually for updates and training
- Adhere to policy and procedure as outlined in the Program Management Manual
- Ensure quality control measures are in place for safe mentoring practices
- Provide consistent communication to the Regional Coordinator /Central TeamMates office, school, and local TeamMates local board
- Attend local TeamMates Board meetings and provide a coordinator report
- Provide updates and information to TeamMates Central office as requested
- Collaborate with the local TeamMates local board to establish and carry out annual and strategic goals, and assist with program budget
- Provide program updates and data, including successes and needs to meet program goals
- Assist with mentor recruitment and program marketing
- Coordinate the training and matching process
- Facilitate new mentor/mentee training and renewal experiences
- Make matches based on common interests and life experiences
- Coordinate the initial meeting of the mentor and the mentee
- Develop match support and match activities
- Oversee the match closure process
- Ensure accurate and updated records in the database
- Maintain current data on all mentees, mentors, and board members
- Enter bi-annual match data
- Serve as a role model to all students.
- Serve as a positive member of the community in a way that does not negatively affect the District’s reputation or image in the community.
- Refrain from engaging in conduct that interferes with the operations of the District, including the education of students.
- Develop and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with other staff and administration.
- Adhere to all District policies, rules, regulations, and supervisory directives.
- Maintain confidentiality of information concerning staff, students, and parents in accordance with law and District rules.
- Adhere to the code of ethics of the District and the Nebraska Department of Education (NDE Rule 27).
FLSA Status: Exempt. Professional exemption: The employee has a primary duty of performing work requiring knowledge of an advanced type in a field of science or learning customarily acquired by a prolonged course of specialized intellectual instruction and study or has a primary duty of teaching, tutoring, instructing, or lecturing in the activity of imparting knowledge and is employed and engaged in this activity as a teacher.
