Position Summary
Southwest Georgia Healthcare Center (SWGHC) is seeking a compassionate and dependable Office Nurse to join our clinical team. This position supports providers in delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced outpatient setting. Candidates may be a Medical Assistant (MA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Pediatric experience is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination, including obtaining vital signs and medical history
- Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments
- Administer medications and injections as permitted by licensure
- Perform basic lab duties (e.g., specimen collection, point-of-care testing)
- Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Provide patient education and instructions as directed by the provider
- Maintain clean, stocked, and organized exam rooms
- Handle phone calls, patient messages, and follow-up communication as needed
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and infection control standards
- Support front office staff as needed to ensure smooth clinic operations
Qualifications
- Current certification/licensure as a Medical Assistant, CNA, or LPN
- Pediatric experience preferred
- Current CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a team-oriented environment
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with EMR systems
Work Environment
- Fast-paced outpatient clinic setting
- Frequent interaction with patients of all ages, including children
- Requires standing, walking, and occasional lifting
Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
