Position Overview
As an intake attorney, you will conduct consultations with potential new clients, assessing their estate planning needs and providing preliminary guidance on appropriate strategies. This role is crucial in maintaining our firm's professional image and ensuring communication with potential new clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive potential new client consultations focusing on asset compilation, family structure, and estate planning goals
- Evaluate estate planning needs, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives
- Provide initial assessments on wealth transfer options and probate avoidance strategies
- Document family relationships, asset inventories, and specific estate planning concerns
- Coordinate with senior estate planning attorneys for complex cases
- Identify and flag urgent matters, particularly for elderly or ill clients
- Ensure compliance with state-specific estate planning regulations and ethical guidelines
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Active law license in good standing
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to be flexible with your schedule to accommodate potential new clients
