Don Anderson & Associates Ltd is a small to mid-size public accounting firm in Colonial Heights, VA. We are seeking an outgoing, energetic candidate looking for work in a fast-paced business environment. The Receptionist / Administrative Support position is for our front desk / customer reception area. In this position, the candidate will be the first impression our clients have with our firm so this person must be outgoing, friendly, well-spoken, and professional in attitude and appearance. Must have excellent phone and communication skills, be well organized, responsible, and able to multi-task. Tasks associated with this position include but are not limited to the following:
· Daily office opening and closing procedures
· Answering phone calls and scheduling appointments for multiple staff
· Letter writing / mass mailings
· Processing mail
· Collection of payments from clients, preparing daily deposits
· Manage and stock office supply inventory
· Filing and typing
· Other Admin tasks as needed
As this firm is a public accounting firm specializing in income taxes, there are also several functions associated with this position that will be more technical and designed to provide support services to the entire office staff and our clients. These tasks will include but not be limited to the following:
· Assembly of income tax returns including individual, business, non-profit and estate and trust returns
· Reviewing with clients the filing and payment instructions for their tax return
· Must be aware of monthly filing deadlines and on top of reminding clients as deadlines approach to ensure timely filing of returns
· Typing of various business tax forms for multiple staff in the firm
Must be experienced with Microsoft Word and Outlook. Other industry specific software is utilized, and candidate will be trained on these programs upon arrival. Licensed Notary Public preferred or willingness to obtain certification. Position is an hourly position, with seasonal peaks that will require overtime hours.
