POSITION SUMMARY
Dominion’s Advanced Controls Engineering team is dedicated to quality, on time engineering. As a member of the Controls Design team you’ll work alongside our Project Managers, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing and Documentation teams to design, build, program, and integrate custom automated equipment and solutions for a variety of product lines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain control system documentation ensuring compliance with customer specifications and industrial standards.
- Controls hardware design including electrical circuits, control panels, pneumatics, hydraulics, communication networks, variable frequency drives.
- Controls software design including PLC programs, HMI applications, drive applications, and industrial communication networks.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and project management teams to ensure cross-functional alignment and on-time delivery.
- Commissioning equipment, supporting start-up activities and system validation.
- Work directly with customers independently or as part of a project team by participating in meetings, project open issues and status reports. Supporting successful project planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Proven experience and ability to create and direct the development of controls hardware and software that meets project requirements and customer specifications.
- Proven experience and ability to support project from inception through completion throughout all phases of design, build and integration.
- Knowledge of customer and industry specifications with ability to calculate figures and amounts such as power consumption, heat dissipation, network performance, safe stopping distances, pneumatic and hydraulic requirements.
- Advanced skills in troubleshooting, commissioning and system optimization.
- Knowledge of industrial network protocols.
- Demonstrated ability to support system commissioning and production start-ups
- Minimum of 3 years of experience
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED
- Knowledge of industry standards, common practices and customer requirements with recent, relevant work experience including GM, Stellantis or Ford projects.
- GM certifications and safety training. GCCH, GCCS, Eplan.
- Knowledge of Ford manufacturing standards and GVOSS specifications
- Experienced with plant systems. SEP, GEP, MERS, RPM, FIS, PFCS, BROADCAST
- AutoCad, ePlan, Studio 5000, RSLogix, Factory Talk View, Siemens TIA Portal, Servo Controllers
- Experienced with General Assembly, Evac and Fill Equipment, Automation systems and processes.
