Position Summary
The Contracting Support Specialist – Basic will provide acquisition and contracting support services in support of federal government procurement operations. The individual will assist contracting personnel with the acquisition of commercial products and services, contract administration activities, contract closeout actions, and preparation of acquisition documentation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Greater than three (3) years of relevant federal contracting experience.
- Must have served as a Contract Specialist within a federal government organization.
- Contracting Officer warrant experience is not required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and applicable agency supplements.
- Active DoW Top Secret Clearance Preferred (Active DoW Secret Clearance mandatory)
Required Experience and Skills
Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in:
- Simplified acquisition procedures for commercial products and services.
- Contract closeout activities and documentation.
- Preparation of brand name justifications.
- Entry-level contracting functions and acquisition support.
- Supporting a wide range of commodity and service requirements.
- Fixed-price contract awards and fixed-price contract modifications.
- Time management and workload prioritization in a fast-paced contracting environment.
- FAR Parts 5, 6, 9, 12, 13, and 15 acquisition procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support acquisition planning and market research activities.
- Prepare solicitation packages and supporting acquisition documentation.
- Assist with evaluation and award documentation.
- Process contract modifications and administrative actions.
- Conduct contract closeout reviews and file maintenance.
- Coordinate with government contracting officers, program managers, and requiring activities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal acquisition regulations and agency policies.
