Position Summary

The Contracting Support Specialist – Advanced (Team Lead) provides senior‑level acquisition expertise and leadership in support of federal procurement operations at Patrick Space Force Base. This position leads contracting teams, oversees complex and high‑visibility acquisitions, and supports Government Contracting Officers in executing mission‑critical procurement actions. The individual must demonstrate mastery of federal acquisition processes, source selection, and agency‑level procedures while providing technical guidance and supervision to contracting professionals.

Minimum Qualifications

• More than ten (10) years of relevant federal contracting experience.
• Experience exercising an unlimited Contracting Officer warrant.
• Demonstrated mastery of federal acquisition programs, contract administration, and advanced procurement methodologies.
• Thorough knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and defense/agency‑level supplements.
• Active DoW Top Secret Clearance Preferred (Active DoW Secret Clearance mandatory).
• Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level II certification or a Back to Basics Contracting Professional certification or equivalent.

Required Experience and Skills

Candidates must possess all Basic and Journeyman‑level contracting support qualifications and demonstrate proficiency in:

• Source selection processes and documentation.
• Defense and agency‑level FAR supplements and procedures.
• Leading teams and supervising contracting professionals.
• Customer engagement and stakeholder coordination.
• Agile contracting methods (e.g., Commercial Solutions Opening, Broad Agency Announcements).
• Advanced acquisition planning, strategy development, and milestone execution.
• High‑level acquisition writing, justification development, and decision documentation.
• Managing complex, multi‑phase procurements with minimal oversight.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead contracting teams in executing cradle‑to‑grave acquisition activities.
• Oversee development of acquisition strategies, plans, milestones, and supporting documentation.
• Direct and conduct market research, source selection activities, and evaluation processes.
• Prepare and review solicitations, evaluation reports, award documentation, and contract modifications.
• Support and lead negotiations for complex procurements.
• Provide senior‑level contract administration and oversight of post‑award activities.
• Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, agency supplements, and organizational policies.
• Mentor, train, and supervise junior and mid‑level contracting support personnel.
• Serve as a primary interface with Contracting Officers, Program Managers, legal counsel, and mission partners.

This position provides essential senior‑level contracting leadership required to manage complex, high‑value acquisitions supporting mission operations at Patrick Space Force Base.
