REQUIREMENTS:
-
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
-
Knowledge of behavioral health clinical services preferred.
-
2–3 years of experience in medical or healthcare billing required.

Demonstrated experience with claims processing, payment posting, and collections.

Strong knowledge of revenue cycle management, Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance plans, and third-party payers.

Experience investigating and resolving denied or unpaid claims.

Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, clinicians, colleagues, and insurance payers.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain confidentiality of all client Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Prepare, submit, and monitor government and commercial insurance claims for reimbursement.

Investigate, research, and resolve unpaid, denied, or rejected claims in a timely manner.

Report delinquent accounts and billing concerns to the Billing Manager.

Assist clients with resolving complex billing issues and understanding out-of-pocket financial responsibilities.

Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage as needed.

Post payments accurately and support accounts receivable and collection activities.

Maintain accurate billing records and documentation.

Collaborate with clinicians, payers, and internal departments to ensure timely claim resolution and reimbursement.

Support revenue cycle operations through effective follow-up and account management.

Utilize spreadsheet and word processing software to perform billing-related duties and reporting.

Demonstrate professionalism and provide supportive service to individuals from diverse ethnic, social, and educational backgrounds.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
