Position Overview
We are seeking a seasoned, performance-driven Billing Specialist to join our revenue cycle team. This is not an entry-level billing role. We are looking for a highly experienced professional who understands the full medical billing lifecycle and can independently manage claims from submission through final resolution. This position plays a critical role in protecting and maximizing organizational revenue.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform full-cycle billing (charge entry through claim resolution)
· Submit and scrub electronic and paper claims
· Aggressive follow-up on unpaid, rejected, and denied claims
· Prepare and submit appeals with supporting documentation
· Post payments and reconcile remittances
· Manage aging reports and maintain AR within established benchmarks
· Analyze EOBs and identify underpayments
· Identify billing trends, denial patterns, and revenue leakage
· Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to correct documentation gaps
· Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer guidelines
· Maintain productivity and quality metrics in a high-volume department
Required Experience
· 5 years of medical billing experience
· Demonstrated success reducing AR days and increasing clean claim rates
· Experience in a busy, high-volume revenue cycle department
· Strong working knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding application
· Experience managing Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer claims
· Proven denial management and appeals experience
· Ability to interpret payer contracts and reimbursement methodologies
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· High attention to detail with strong follow-through

This is a fast-paced, high-volume billing department with measurable performance expectations. The ideal candidate is flexible, proactive, accountable, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
