Part-Time Residential Advocate

Domestic Violence Project, Inc. is seeking compassionate and dependable individuals to join our team as Part-Time Residential Advocates. This is an on-call/fill-in position during the week and/or weekends, providing essential support to survivors of domestic violence in our shelter facility. Residential Advocates help maintain a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for residents and their children.
Wage: $19/hour
Schedule: This is a part-time, fill-in position with variable hours depending on agency need. Ideal for candidates seeking flexible scheduling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide crisis intervention and emotional support to residents
- Monitor and maintain the safety and security of the shelter
- Assist residents with daily needs, referrals, and resources
- Complete necessary documentation and shift reports
- Uphold confidentiality and agency protocols at all times
- Help with facility upkeep and other duties as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in social services, crisis intervention, or residential support preferred
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and respond calmly in crisis situations
- Flexibility to work during the day, afternoon, evening, or overnight shifts, including weekends, as needed.
