Domestic Violence Project, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization established in 1978. We provide safe shelter, legal advocacy and prevention and educational services for survivors, their children and the community.
Job Summary
The Director Residential Services is responsible for leading and managing an array of residential services for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and dating violence. Assures that program services provide for the welfare and safety of survivors.
Responsibilities
Programming
- Design, implement, and evaluate residential program goals and objectives
- Participate in development of annual program budget; monitor monthly expenses; operate within budgetary constraints
- Facilitate the completion of program objectives per funder requirements
- Work collaboratively with other service providers in Stark County
- Build and maintain effective relationships with staff, stakeholders, members of the Board of Directors and volunteers
- Monitor timely completion of activity logs and case notes, incident reporting, and implementation of individual support plans
- Use data-driven analysis to understand and report on outcomes and impact of programming
Quality Assurance
- Ensure residential programs and services meet the highest quality of professional standards and operate in compliance with regulatory, funding, and accrediting entities
- Conduct physical site inspections and evaluations of programs based on established standards
- Develop policies and procedures for improved services
- Implement corrective action if necessary to ensure agency and site compliance with funding contracts and certifying bodies
Employee Development and Performance Management
- Lead the recruitment, selection, onboarding, and training of department staff, ensuring smooth transitions and effective integration within the team
- Drive employee development initiatives by providing ongoing coaching, cross-training, and mentorship to support professional growth and performance improvement
- Oversee performance management processes by establishing clear performance metrics, offering regular feedback, conducting performance reviews, and implementing Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) or corrective action as necessary to address performance gaps, ensuring accountability for both individual and team goals
- Interpret, communicate, and enforce organizational policies, processes, and standard operating procedures, ensuring consistent compliance and alignment with company objectives
Other Functions
- Collaborate with the CEO and leadership team on the annual strategic planning process
- Work closely with leadership team to enhance quality, meet outcome and efficiency standards, and adhere to best practices across the agency
- Assist other leaders in ensuring timeliness and accuracy of records maintained in shared systems
- Represent the agency at community events, public speaking engagements, and networking opportunities
- Other duties as assigned
Experience and Education
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in case management, trauma-informed care, advocacy for survivors of gender-based violence, residential program development and implementation; hotline experience a plus
- Minimum 3 years supervising others in a social services setting
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or another related human services field
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification within 90 days of hire
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Attributes
- Awareness of and empathy for social, emotional, and personal aspects of domestic violence

- Ability to handle multi-line phone and door system

- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license with less than six points, and proof of automobile insurance, adhering to the minimum requirements of Ohio’s Financial Responsibility Act
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Work is performed in an indoor environment. Involves risks or discomforts that require safety precautions typical of an office setting, including the need for safe workplace practices, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire regulations.
- Performing the duties of this job requires seeing, hearing, reading, writing, and verbally communicating in English; operating a computer and standard office equipment; climbing stairs, sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching; occasional climbing, squatting, pushing, pulling, lifting objects up to 25 pounds and carrying them distances of up to 100 ft.
