Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Financial Officer role. The Financial Officer will manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and reconciliations. This role will assist with preparation and maintenance of accurate financial statements, monitor budgets, and support grant and contract reporting in compliance with organizational policies and funding requirements. The Financial Officer will develop and maintain financial reporting schedules, assist with annual audits, and ensure adherence to applicable regulations and internal controls. The role will also involve collaborating with leadership and program staff to provide financial insights, support strategic planning, and communicate financial information in a clear, accessible manner. Some remote work allowable.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Finance with experience in budgeting, cash flow management, and general accounting principles.
- Proficiency in preparing and analyzing Financial Statements and Financial Reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated Analytical Skills to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Effective Communication skills to present financial information clearly to non-financial team members and leadership.
- Experience with accounting software and spreadsheet tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel or similar platforms).
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience preferred.
- Knowledge of nonprofit or grant-funded financial management, including compliance and reporting, is preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and work collaboratively in a mission-driven environment.
