Overview

Purpose:

Will have overall responsibility for always maintaining garbage and bin wash area clean.  Wash and rinse all types of production bins and move bins to bin wash station, dump bins of wet garbage product.

Responsibilities

Primary Accountabilities:

• Responsible to comply with all Quality and Food Safety Management standards and/or systems to ensure continual improvement and effectiveness of the Food Safety Management System with the ability to satisfy our customers and provide products that are in accordance to their intended use and safe for human consumption
• Will be responsible for maintaining the garbage dump station area and the bin wash station clean at all times.
• Will be required to drive a forklift and move various types of production bins to the bin wash station area to be cleaned.
• Ensure to have all the necessary supplies/chemicals to wash bins.
• Will need to complete safe handling of chemical usage training.
• Must be able to move to production areas if help is needed.
• Required to use high pressure water hose to wash down bins.
• Responsible for following procedures by wearing gloves, eye protection and other approved company provided PPE (personal protective requirement) while performing cleaning duties.
• Responsible for obeying the rule of never mixing cleaning chemicals.
• Responsible for maintaining high quality sanitation standards.
• Follow company policies.
• Follow safety procedures.
• Will be responsible to help disinfect all Bins that introduce in production areas.
• Other duties that are reasonable associated with the above essential functions of the job
• Will work in Production (Bracket IX or X depending on employment status) according to seniority number, at that pay rate, when not scheduled in specialty job.

Qualifications

Experience, Knowledge, & Skills You Bring:                                            

• Must have 1-2 years of forklift operator experience.
• Must be able to pass forklift evaluation and complete company specific forklift certification training.
• Prior food manufacturing experience a plus
• Must be able to identify cleaning products.
• Must be able to understand and carry out instructions regarding the job and safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.            
• Must be willing to work any shift, plus weekend and overtime as needed.

• Reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.

Education & Certification:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to climb stairs
• Must be able to lift 60 pounds
• Must be able to work around chemicals (caustic potash and chlorine
• Work involves plenty of bending and carrying buckets, moving drums and dumping them

Work Environment:

• Industrial plant environment with related noise and temperatures
