Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service throughout their visit
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks with precision and care
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process orders accurately and efficiently
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and food payments with accuracy, demonstrating strong cash handling skills
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food preparation stations and seating areas
- Follow food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures to ensure quality and compliance
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks as needed
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure quick service without sacrificing quality
- Upsell menu items to increase sales while ensuring customer satisfaction
- Keep track of inventory levels for coffee beans, supplies, and food items, notifying management of shortages
Requirements
- Prior barista experience or background in coffee industry preferred; passion for coffee is a plus!
- Proven customer service skills with a friendly, positive attitude
- Experience operating POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is highly desirable
- Strong cash handling skills with basic math proficiency for accurate transactions
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours
- Ability to stand for extended periods, walk comfortably within the café environment, and lift light supplies when necessary
- Basic understanding of retail math for sales calculations and inventory management
- Previous experience in food service or retail environments is advantageous but not required
