The Crew Leader is responsible for leading and managing a landscape crew through year-round operations, including maintenance, construction, and snow removal. This is a field-based leadership role where you will guide your team, manage on-site performance, ensure high-quality results, and represent the Dohner brand with professionalism. In the winter, the Crew Leader also serves as a Snow Plow Driver, operating trucks and equipment during snow events. This is a full-time, year-round position, not seasonal.

The Crew Leader is responsible for leading and managing a landscape crew through year-round operations, including maintenance, construction, and snow removal. Key Responsibilities
- Lead a crew in daily landscape maintenance, hardscape tasks, plantings, cleanups, and enhancement work.
- Review job scopes with the team and ensure all work meets Dohner's quality standards.
- Operate a variety of industry equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, skid steers, etc.).
- Train, mentor, and motivate crew members to improve performance and grow within the company.
- Ensure safe work practices and proper equipment handling at all times.
- Maintain clean, organized job sites and company vehicles.
- Communicate job progress, material needs, and issues to supervisors daily.
- Interact professionally with clients on-site as needed.
- Communicate clearly with management regarding schedules, challenges, and job needs.
- Uphold Dohner's brand with a positive, professional attitude.
- Serve as a Snow Plow Driver during snow events (November-April).
- Operate plow trucks safely and efficiently, following assigned routes.
- Respond promptly to snow calls, often during nights, early mornings, or weekends.
- Assist with salting, shoveling, and equipment operation as needed.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and team performance.
- Support a culture that encourages advancement--many leaders start in this role.
- 1 to 2 years of Crew Leader or senior crew member experience in landscaping or a related field.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a crew.
- Reliable transportation to job sites and equipment locations.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to operate landscape equipment and snow plow trucks.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Professionalism, integrity, and strong communication skills.
- Dependability, showing up on time and ready to lead the day.
- Experience operating skid steers, loaders, or similar equipment.
- Hardscape experience (pavers, retaining walls, grading, etc.).
- Irrigation or lighting experience.
- Desire to grow into Operations, Estimating, or Management roles.
- W-2 Employment
- Summer Pay (Landscaping): $20-$25/hour
- Winter Pay (Snow Plowing): $25-$40/hour (DOE) and equipment
- Expected annual earnings: $60,000-$70,000 with bonuses
