About the Opportunity

Doherty Staffing Solutions is partnering with Polaris Industries, Inc., a global leader in powersports and outdoor vehicles, to hire a Buyer in Riverside, California. In this role, you will manage supplier relationships and sourcing activities to support quality, delivery, and cost objectives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. What You’ll Do as a Buyer

• Manage supplier performance related to quality, delivery, cost, and technology standards
• Own purchase price management and support cost-reduction initiatives for outsourced components
• Conduct make‑vs‑buy analysis to support sourcing and production strategies
• Prepare, solicit, and evaluate RFQs and supplier proposals
• Support product development from concept through production
• Guide supplier selection for new projects and facilitate early supplier involvement in design
• Lead supplier negotiations and problem‑resolution discussions, ensuring timely corrective actions
• Coordinate new component releases and engineering design changes with suppliers
• Monitor supplier capacity, lead times, and delivery performance to support production schedules
• Submit tooling requisitions in accordance with established internal procedures

What You Need to Bring to the Buyer Role

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a technical field (preferred)
• 4 years of experience in purchasing, buying, planning, sourcing, or related roles
• Previous materials or purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong negotiation, communication, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced setting
• Proven success working cross‑functionally with engineering, quality, and operations teams
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Fundamental knowledge of MRP systems (MAPICS preferred) and web‑based business systems
• APICS CPIM and/or ISM C.P.M./A.P.P. certification preferred
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship #metrocareers
