About the Opportunity
Doherty Staffing Solutions is partnering with Polaris Industries, Inc., a global leader in powersports and outdoor vehicles, to hire a Buyer in Riverside, California. In this role, you will manage supplier relationships and sourcing activities to support quality, delivery, and cost objectives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. What You’ll Do as a Buyer
- Manage supplier performance related to quality, delivery, cost, and technology standards
- Own purchase price management and support cost-reduction initiatives for outsourced components
- Conduct make‑vs‑buy analysis to support sourcing and production strategies
- Prepare, solicit, and evaluate RFQs and supplier proposals
- Support product development from concept through production
- Guide supplier selection for new projects and facilitate early supplier involvement in design
- Lead supplier negotiations and problem‑resolution discussions, ensuring timely corrective actions
- Coordinate new component releases and engineering design changes with suppliers
- Monitor supplier capacity, lead times, and delivery performance to support production schedules
- Submit tooling requisitions in accordance with established internal procedures
What You Need to Bring to the Buyer Role
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a technical field (preferred)
- 4 years of experience in purchasing, buying, planning, sourcing, or related roles
- Previous materials or purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong negotiation, communication, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced setting
- Proven success working cross‑functionally with engineering, quality, and operations teams
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Fundamental knowledge of MRP systems (MAPICS preferred) and web‑based business systems
- APICS CPIM and/or ISM C.P.M./A.P.P. certification preferred
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship #metrocareers
