Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated, occasional lifting and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and be responsible for providing a safe and clean environment for pets in our facility. This role requires hands-on experience with various animals, excellent customer service skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, and exercising pets.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and other facilities to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff.
- Support pet owners by providing information on pet care and services offered at the facility.
- Handle various breeds of dogs and other animals with confidence and care.
- Must have own transportation
Qualifications
- Previous experience in kennel work or animal care is preferred.
- Familiarity with pet grooming practices is beneficial is a plus but NOT mandatory.
- Strong animal handling skills and ability to perform animal care.
- Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners if needed.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) as required for animal handling at times, NOT mandatory.
