Kennel Attendant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Boarding Buddy to join our team seasonally. This role is essential in providing exceptional care and support to pets while their owners are away. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal handling and a passion for ensuring the well-being of pets in a boarding environment. As a Boarding Buddy, you will be responsible for creating a safe, comfortable, and engaging atmosphere for all animals in your care.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care for dogs and other animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
• Monitor the health and behavior of each pet, reporting any concerns to the management team.
• Maintain cleanliness of the boarding facility, including kennels, play areas, and common spaces.
• Assist with dog training and behavior management as needed.
• Engage with pet owners to provide updates on their pets’ well-being and address any questions or concerns.
• Handle animals safely and effectively, employing proper animal restraint techniques when necessary.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss animal care protocols and improve service delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in dog handling or related fields such as veterinary technician or veterinary assistant roles.
• Familiarity with animal care practices, including pet grooming and kennel operations.
• Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners and address their needs.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for animal handling and facility maintenance.
• Previous experience in pet sitting or similar roles is a plus.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $10.00 - $13.00 per hour
