We are seeking a dedicated, motivated, and hands-on Canine Coach Trainer (CCT) to lead all back-of-house operations, canine coach training, and playroom excellence at our new location. This leadership role is ideal for someone with strong dog behavior knowledge, exceptional people skills, and a passion for building a positive team culture centered around safety, enrichment, and outstanding canine care.
As the operational leader of our back-of-house team, the Canine Coach Trainer plays a vital role in ensuring every dog receives safe, structured, and engaging care while supporting and developing the Canine Coach and Rover teams.
Position Overview
The Canine Coach Trainer serves as the steady, hands-on leader responsible for overseeing all playroom and spa activities, dog health and safety standards, enrichment programming, facility cleanliness, and team development. This role is essential in maintaining a safe, organized, and positive environment for both dogs and team members.
The ideal candidate is patient, adaptable, calm under pressure, and confident leading both dogs and people. They are a natural educator who motivates others while consistently upholding operational standards and policies.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all playroom and spa operations
- Train, mentor, and develop Canine Coaches and Rovers
- Ensure safe group play and maintain dog health and wellness standards
- Conduct dog behavior and wellness evaluations
- Implement daily enrichment activities and engagement programs
- Maintain facility cleanliness, organization, and safety standards
- Manage back-of-house scheduling and staffing support
- Monitor and maintain inventory and supply levels
- Handle Dash responsibilities and operational documentation
- Enforce company policies and operational procedures consistently
- Support a positive, team-focused workplace culture
- Serve as a calm, motivating presence for both staff and dogs
Qualifications
- Must love dogs (non-negotiable!)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong training background and leadership abilities
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-driven environment
- Ability to follow structure while adapting as needed
- Self-starter with a motivated, goal-driven mindset
- Experience with dog daycare, boarding, veterinary, grooming, or animal care environments preferred
