Dog Handler / Kennel Attendant (Part-Time) – Sonoma County
Dogfather K9 Connections is seeking an experienced Dog Handler / Kennel Attendant with a minimum of 1 year of kennel or animal handling experience.
Working with dogs on our 17-acre working dog ranch resort is both rewarding and demanding. We are looking for a reliable, responsible, and self-motivated individual to join our team that is passionate about dogs.

Dogfather K9 Connections is Sonoma County’s premier dog boarding facility offering:

- Bathing Salon
- Daycare
- Private Dog Park, including a swimming pond
We are also home to Golden Gate K9 Training, specializing in detection dogs.

Position Requirements (Read Carefully)
- Must have prior animal/kennel experience (REQUIRED)
- Must genuinely love dogs
- Strong work ethic and reliability are essential
- Detail-oriented and able to multitask
- Knowledge of dog behavior
- Comfortable interacting with clients
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Basic computer skills required
- Must have reliable transportation
- Valid Driver’s License required
- No felony convictions
Key Responsibilities
- Check dogs in and out
- Answer phones and schedule appointments
- Feed and administer medications
- Monitor dog health and behavior, including special needs dogs
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness by routinely cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining all kennel areas, equipment, and outdoor grounds
- Bathe dogs as needed
- Provide professional and friendly customer service
Schedule & Availability
- Part-time with potential for full-time
- Shifts typically between 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- Must be available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday, including some holidays
- Monthly schedules allow for advance planning of days off
Physical Requirements
- Stand/walk for up to 5 hours per shift
- Lift up to 75 lbs
- Handle strong, athletic dogs
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
