About Dogfather Grooming
Dogfather Grooming is Connecticut's leading, locally grown salon and mobile pet grooming service — proudly serving pets and families across Southern Connecticut for over 20 years. We operate a fleet of 20 fully equipped mobile grooming vans built by Wag'n Tails (https://wagntails.com/#), serving more than 30,000 dogs each year.
These are specialty conversion vehicles — fully outfitted mobile grooming salons with generators, water systems, hydraulic tables, climate control, and more. We are looking for a mechanic who can maintain and support this growing fleet.
What You'll Do
- Perform oil changes, brakes, tires, and general vehicle maintenance
- Assist the Lead Mechanic on larger repairs and diagnostics
- Help keep our fleet road-ready and operating reliably
- Support van swaps and occasional roadside assistance when needed
- Pick up parts and coordinate alignments or outside service
- Assist with seasonal fleet needs (winter snow clearing, summer AC checks, etc.)
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional workspace
What We're Looking For
- 2 years of hands-on mechanical experience
- Experience with oil changes, brakes, tires, and general maintenance
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Willingness to take direction and learn
- Team-oriented mindset with professional communication
- Valid driver's license (clean driving record preferred)

Schedule & Growth
- 30–40 hours per week (part-time to full-time)
- Hours are very likely to reach 40 hours, though not guaranteed
- Opportunity to grow into a larger role as the fleet expands
- Eligible for benefits after required employment period
Pay
$22–$25 per hour — based on experience, work ethic, and reliability.
