Spend Your Day Working With Dogs—In a Safe, Professional Environment

Love dogs? Looking for a job that's active, rewarding, and never boring?

Dog Days is hiring dependable, energetic Dog Handlers to join our professional dog daycare and boarding team in St. Paul.

We've been caring for dogs for more than 20 years and have built a reputation for safe playgroups, exceptional care, and outstanding customer service. Unlike many daycare facilities, we keep our playgroups small and our dog-to-staff ratios low so our team can focus on quality care—not simply managing chaos.

If you enjoy being active, learning about dog behavior, and making a real difference in dogs' lives every day, we'd love to meet you.

Why Employees Love Working Here

  • Small playgroups with low dog-to-staff ratios
  • Structured enrichment activities—not just free play
  • Paid training in dog body language and behavior
  • Supportive leadership that enjoys teaching and coaching
  • Flexible scheduling
  • Tips paid directly to employees
  • Advancement opportunities into Lead and Supervisor positions

What You'll Do

Every day is different, but your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising off-leash dog playgroups
  • Monitoring dog body language to keep play safe and positive
  • Leading enrichment games, activities, and mental stimulation
  • Reinforcing good manners and redirecting inappropriate behavior
  • Cleaning playrooms, kennels, and common areas
  • Working closely with teammates to provide exceptional care

This is a physically active job. You'll spend most of your shift walking, standing, bending, cleaning, and interacting with dogs in a fast-paced, and somewhat loud, environment.

We're Looking For Someone Who Is...

  • Dependable and takes pride in excellent attendance
  • Positive, coachable, and eager to learn
  • Comfortable working with dogs of all breeds and sizes
  • Calm and confident in high-energy situations
  • Willing to clean as part of providing excellent animal care
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

Professional experience in dog daycare, boarding, veterinary medicine, grooming, shelter work, or dog training is strongly preferred, but we're happy to train the right person with a great attitude.

Schedule

  • Part-time (15 hours/week) or Full-time (30 hours/week)
  • Morning and afternoon shifts available
  • One weekend shift each week is required
  • Some holiday availability is required

Pay & Benefits

$16.40–$18.00 per hour, depending on experience and advancement

Plus:

  • Employee discounts
  • Paid Sick & Safe Time (ESST)
  • Vacation accrual for full-time employees
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance (30 hrs/week)
  • 401(k) for eligible employees
  • Opportunities for advancement
