Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team for weekday afternoons 6am to 1pm (more hours may be available). The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals and a strong commitment to providing high-quality care. As a Kennel Assistant, you will be responsible for the daily care; feeding, cleaning, and overseeing proper play of animals in our facility, ensuring their health and safety. This role is essential in maintaining a clean and organized environment while supporting the overall operations of our kennel.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals, including supervising playtimes, feeding and exercising.
- Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the kennel, including animal living spaces and common areas.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to staff.
- Be willing to work occasional weekend and evening hours when needed
- Follow safety protocols to ensure the well-being of both animals and staff.
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed such as scheduling and paperwork
Skills
- Ability to provide compassionate pet care and support animal welfare.
- Familiarity with dog training principles is beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with team members and pet owners.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
